Precision Resume Engineering

Your resume is the only codebase nobody ever reviews.

Senior engineers ship systems that scale to millions. Then they describe themselves as "results-driven professionals." We fix that.

Impact is not a verb. metric.

Hiring managers at Stripe and Google spend an average of 6.2 seconds on first pass. They are scanning for numbers, not narrative. "Led cross-functional initiative to improve platform reliability" is invisible. "Reduced P0 incident rate by 73% across 4 microservices, cutting mean time-to-recovery from 4.2h to 18 minutes" lands in the yes pile.
Your current bullet

Led cross-functional teams to improve platform reliability and reduce customer-facing incidents through better monitoring and on-call processes.

After Reframe

Reduced P0 incident rate 73% (4.2h → 18min MTTR) by redesigning on-call rotation and instrumenting 4 microservices with distributed tracing across 3 teams.

"Collaborated with stakeholders" hired nobody.

Soft-verb bullets are resume filler that signal you have nothing concrete to show. Every senior engineer who ever got ghosted after applying to a Series B had at least three of these. Collaboration is not an achievement. The outcome of that collaboration is. We strip every passive verb from your document and replace it with the decision you made, the system you changed, and the number that moved.
What you wrote

Collaborated with product, design, and engineering stakeholders to align roadmap priorities and ensure successful delivery of key platform features.

What got the interview

Negotiated scope reduction on 3 roadmap items with CPO, unblocking a 6-engineer team and shipping the payments API 5 weeks ahead of a $2.4M contract deadline.

Your GitHub has more narrative than your resume. Fix that.

Your commit history tells the story of a person who debugs at 2am, who refactors before shipping, who leaves comments for the engineer who comes after. Your resume says "proficient in Python and AWS." The gap between those two documents is why you are not getting callbacks from the companies that would actually value what you do. We read both. We translate one into the other.
Resume says

Proficient in Python, Go, AWS (EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda), Kubernetes, Terraform. Experience with CI/CD pipelines and agile methodologies.

What your commits reveal

Migrated 14-service monolith to Kubernetes on AWS EKS, cutting infrastructure cost 41% ($180K/yr) and enabling zero-downtime deploys via Argo CD across 3 environments.

Two pages cannot hold fifteen years. Unless you edit like an engineer.

The staff architect problem: you have built distributed systems, managed migrations, mentored four engineering teams, and made architectural decisions that are still running in production. Your resume is a 2-page graveyard of equal-weight bullets. Hiring managers read the first third. We apply information hierarchy — your highest-signal work at the highest density, older context compressed, every line earning its space like production code.
Staff engineer resume (common)

Senior Software Engineer at DataCorp (2018–2021): Worked on backend systems, participated in architecture reviews, mentored junior engineers, contributed to platform reliability initiatives and internal tooling projects.

After architecture review

Designed event-sourced order system (Kafka + Postgres) handling 340K txn/day at DataCorp; mentored 4 engineers to senior level; led 18-month SOC2 Type II certification that unblocked enterprise sales.

Eye-Tracking Study, 2024

The six-second scan is not a metaphor.

Ladders Inc. eye-tracking research across 30 recruiters found that hiring managers spend a median of 6.2 seconds on initial resume review. They scan: current title, current company, previous title, previous company, start/end dates, education. In that order. Everything else is secondary. We structure your resume around what they actually look at first.
